Overview: Dispatchers perform key technical roles for our terminals. The Dispatcher will be responsible for dispatching company and third party drivers to client sites to ensure timely and accurate delivery of customer loads. Additionally, the Dispatcher will assist in the processing of driver logs and paperwork, customer invoicing and bills of receipt. Company Interfaces: Reports to Fleet & Dispatch Manager with dotted line to Lead Dispatcher The position will also interface Company drivers, third party drivers, terminal employees, customers and vendors on a daily basis. General Responsibilities: Maintain Company confidentiality. Cooperate with executive officers, administrators, co-workers, customers and suppliers. Maintain regular hours by being present and prepared to work during designated hours. Follow Company policies by conforming to the procedures outlined in the Office Manual. Maintain a safe and organized work area. Maintain a competent level of understanding with equipment and trucks. Understand and apply all environmental health and safety rules and regulations according to established Company policies and procedures. Work with the Fleet & Transportation Manager and Lead Dispatcher to determine priorities. Work overtime upon request. Specific Responsibilities: Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following: Entering invoices into new MTS system. Maintaining parts inventory for MTS system. Addressing driver maintenance issues (breakdown, flat tires, etc.) that arise during work hours. Help maintain trailer set-off and daily load count spreadsheets. Responsible for all incoming and outgoing loads during their shift. Provide detailed report to morning dispatch each day. Other duties as assigned General Qualifications: High school diploma/GED. Strong oral and written communication skills Solid computer skills and ability to learn new technology Previous trucking dispatch or transportation related experience Physical Requirements: Able to sit or stand for long periods of time Manual dexterity to type and key data for extended periods of time Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed Able to travel to other company locations; Travel up to 10% Able to stoop, bend, kneel and climb stairs Able to work outside in a variety of temperature and weather conditions as needed.
