The Entry Level Police Officer responds to emergency and non-emergency requests for police service and enforces all federal laws, state law and city ordinances. The test will be given Saturday August 17, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center, 5501 Highway 69 S., Greenville, TX 75403 . Interested applicants must apply prior to the application cutoff date on Friday August 02, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. Applications post marked after the cutoff date will not be considered. After submitting a City of Greenville/GEUS application form. You will need to complete a Personal History Statement and bring it with you to the entrance exam testing site on Saturday August 17, 2019. An accurate and completed Personal History Statement is mandatory to complete testing. It must be received in person. Do not submit this document electronically Applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and no older than forty-four (44) years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, no prior felony convictions, and vision must be a minimum of binocular 20/200 corrected to 20/20. Applicants with prior military service must have an Honorable discharge. Minimum education standards include either a high school diploma or; a high school equivalency certificate with a minimum of 12 hours from an institution of higher education with at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale or; a high school equivalency certificate and an honorable discharge from the armed forces of the United States after at least 24 months of active duty service. The eligibility list established by this examination shall be valid for a period of one year from date of examination unless first exhausted. Officers with current TCOLE Certification will be considered first on the eligibility list. Starting Salary: $4,417 per month. Previously TCOLE Certified Officers may be considered for the City’s Lateral Entry program with starting pay of up to $5,936 per month with ten years’ service.
