Child Advocates of Blair County

Blair County Head Start. Founded in 1967, Blair County Head Start (BCHS), based in Altoona, PA, provides early childhood education services to income-eligible 3 to 5 year olds and their families. BCHS services more than 500 children annually and offers a comprehensive pre-school experience focused on child development and education services, health, nutrition, and disabilities services; and family and community partnerships.

Child Advocates of Blair County, Inc., (CABC) is the grantee for BCHS.  It is a private, non-profit, community based organization founded in 1982 to provide quality programming focused around the total needs of at-risk children and families. These programs have created positive change for children and adults alike. It is proud to be a 2012 inductee to the Blair County Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame.
