Job Description

Basic Function:
Develop and implement vision for robust, cutting-edge instructional technology support program for a large multi-campus community college.


Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and implement vision for robust, cutting-edge instructional technology support program for a large multi-campus community college. Manage instructional technology, technology training, video services, and library technical services units. Work with campus staff to provide support for faculty and to implement various technologies including CANVAS and faculty-developed websites. Manage relationships with vendors and manage the unit budgets. Assess student and faculty satisfaction with and outcomes of instructional technology, and implement changes/improvements as needed. Explore and implement uses of new technologies for instructional support. report to Vice President for Instructional and Information Technology.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Instructional Technology or related discipline required. Significant years of experience providing instructional technology support to faculty at a college or university. Previous / demonstrated experience developing and Implementing broad-based Innovation at a college or university.Previous Leadership/management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate with 18 graduate semester hours in Instructional Technology or related discipline required. Significant experience with Instructional design / training .Experience with Record of publications and/or conference presentations. Experience with Quality Matters (QM) program. Community college experience.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Creativity and vision, and ability to lead diverse staff In pursuing that vision. Knowledge of trends and issues in instructional technology. Strong background in CANVAS. Commitment to outcomes assessment and ability to effectively track and analyze outcomes and to apply assessment results to improve practice. Commitment to excellent customer service and ability to organize staff work processes, training, and expectations to ensure excellent customer service is consistently delivered. Ability to work effectively with multiple constituencies across diverse college units. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple competing priorities. Ability to use CANVAS, online conferencing software, online chat, web 2.0 tools. Outstanding attention to detail.
