The Certified Medicine Aide, under the direction of the Charge Nurse/Unit Manager/Supervisor, and following the facility philosophy of nursing care, provides safe and effective routine medication administration to an assigned group of residents. All changes are reported immediately and the Certified Medicine Aide serves as an advocate to maintain optimum function and quality of life for each resident. The Certified Medicine Aide also is expected to function as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant when facility needs require. Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent. Must have successfully completed the State of Maryland approved Certified Medicine Aide program. Must be certified and in good standing with the State of Maryland as a Certified Medicine Aide. CPR certification preferred. Must possess one (1) to two (2) year’s previous experience as a Certified Medicine Aide. Prior experience as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant in long-term care is preferred.
