Join UT Southwestern Medical Center Police Department as a Public Safety Officer (PSO) and help with campus security and safety. UT Southwestern is proud to start our valued Public Safety Officers at $18/hour ($37,440 yr) with additional shift differential pay for nights & weekends.

As a Public Safety Officer, you will provide critical services and information to students, staff, faculty, and visitors on campus while working within our supported police department. Shift Availability PSOs at UT Southwestern are assigned to the following shifts: • 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM • 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM • 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM
Experience and Education • Graduation from high school, vocational school or equivalent and no experience required. • Must possess valid Texas driver's license and be eligible to drive a University owned and/or leased motor vehicle. • Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation. • Must be able to provide creditable testimony in a court of law. • All offers of employment are contingent upon a verified negative drug screen. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Job Duties Provide service to students, employees, and visitors; directs flow of traffic and parking of cars when needed Patrol buildings and grounds to check for fires, water leaks, potential security and safety hazards and general building security, reporting all irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity and prevent crime.
